Kerinia Cusick is the President of Distributed Energy Innovation (DEI). In addition to her responsibilities at DEI, where she works primarily with private companies, Kerinia co-founded Center for Renewables Integration (CRI) which can be found at www.center4ri.org. CRI works primarily for states, ISO/RTOs, and foundations to develop and promote policies that enable high penetration renewables, without impacting reliability and managing cost impact to ratepayers.
Kerinia has deep expertise in renewable energy, electricity markets, energy storage, and electricity policy (state and federal). Some of her professional accomplishments include:
Performing market analysis and prioritization for manufacturing company entering on-shore and off-shore wind industry.
Co-authored energy storage go-to-market strategy and built a new line of business, creating a $250M pipeline, within 20 months;
Managed a market-leading solar company's highly successful Government Affairs team, and shaped renewable policy in more than 15 states;
Authored draft legislation on Community Solar in several states and advised on legislation on other states;
Co-led team tasked by publicly-traded company's Board of Directors to investigate and develop strategy, including M&A opportunities, for software aggregation and dispatch of distributed resources firmed with automated load control, energy storage, or other energy sources;
Worked extensively in restructured electricity markets on energy, capacity and ancillary service products, and in vertically-integrated states on issues such as IRPs and QFs.
